How to plant trees and shrubs?

PROPER WATERING FOR SUCCESS

1.  Keep roots moist prior to planting.

2.  Thoroughly soak roots when planting.

3.  Two thorough soakings per week during hot-dry periods should be sufficient.  (This may vary depending on rainfall, wind, temperature & soil type).

4.  A thorough soaking consists of a hose tricking at the base of the plant for 1/2 hour to as long as a couple of hours depending on the size of the plant & soil conditions. NEVER a light sprinkling.

5.  Continue watering as specified above for the first full growing season until the ground freezes.

6.  Remember, during the first year, if a plant looks like it needs water, it is often too late.
